Bold Lips & Side Parting Pony

The second installment of our beauty guide offers expert tips to rework your office look for spring/summer 13.
Bold Lip by Linda Andersson

Step 1: The key to the bold lip is to go for a strong lip color and match it with a natural look. So for my bold lip, I started with a white golden eye shadow on the eyelid. Curl your eyelashes and put mascara on both top and under lashes.

Step 2: Fill in the eyebrow to a natural arched shape with a pencil or a shadow. Finish off by brushing through an eyebrow gel.

Step 3: I chose a matt pink-red colour lipstick, which is a big trend for spring/summer 2013. Use a lip liner if you want a sharp lip or just a lipstick and blend the lip line with a cotton bud for a soft finish.

Beauty Guide SS13: Work Wear

Side Parting Pony by Susanne Lichtenegger

Step 1: Create a deep side parting and dry it off using your fingers. Only use a big round brush or straightener to smooth the ends out.
Step 2: Part your hair from ear to ear and clip the front section of hair away. Begin teasing your hair at the crown and keep teasing it a further 3 three inches down. Gently brush your hair back into a low ponytail. Secure it with an elastic.
Step 3: Take the front sections, brush one side over the ear, the other side behind and bring it into a low ponytail. Use elastic to secure.
Step 4: Take a small section of the tail and wrap it around the elastic band. Secure it by inserting it into a strap of the band or use pins. Finish the look off with hairspray.

Hair Braids by Susanne Lichtenegger

Step 1: Prep your hair with thickening spary or mousse, make a centre parting and blow-dry your hair using only your fingers to give it texture. Only use a straightner to smooth the ends out.

Step 2: Part your hair from ear to ear and clip the front hair away. Start teasing your hair at the crown, keep teasing it three inches further down. Gently brush your hair back into a low ponytail. Secure it with an elastic.

Step 3: Grab a chunk of your hair from the front, divide it into 3 pieces. (Bring the bottom piece over the middle piece, and then the top piece over the middle piece). Take another piece of your hair from the top and add it to the top piece of your braid. Then take one piece from the side - continue doing this until the you reach the ear. From there just continue as normal braiding untill the end. Secure it with an elastic. Repeat on the other side.

Step 4: Keep the look messy by pulling out a few strands loosely, using your fingers.

Step 5: Take one braid and wrap it around the ponytail. Secure it with a bobbypin. Then take the other braid cross it over and wrap it around the ponytail and secure with a bobbypin.

Step 6: Finsh the look off with hairspray for a lasting style.

Smudged Eyes by Linda Andersson

Step 1: Using a glossy looking eye pencil draw a line next to the lashline on the upper eyelid and under the eye. For a more intense look put the pencil inside the eye, in the tear channel.
Step 2: Blend the line on the upper lid up towards the globe using a round blending brush. I recommend Paula Dorff, with a slightly smaller brush blend the line under the eye. For a more cat eye shaped effect blend towards the outer corner and upwards. Curl the eyelashes and apply plenty of black mascara.
Step 3: Lastly, for a modern glossy eyelid finish by adding a bit of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour creme on the center of the lid.
