Need Some Style Help?

Pre-Appointment

I like to have a pre-appointment telephone call with all my clients to ensure that when they arrive i understand what they want from the session. I will ask things like what style they usually wear, shapes and colours they like to try capture their everyday look.

The Appointment

This is where the fun begins. A typical appointment will last approximately two hours starting with a brief chat about exactly what the client wants before i go and explore our Head Office shop (a model replicar of what the future RedBeryl store will look like) armed with tops, dresses and trousers before entering the styling room.

Styling

Firstly i explain what colours compliment the clients hair and skin tone whilst showing them different items of clothing which they could try. My approach is honest, relaxed and informative, i'll tell them what looks great and how to complete the outfit. I let my clients express their preferences helping create an individual look which also helps me to understand their personal style.

And Finally

Time flies in the styling room and usually ends with a mixture of my creation and the clients, which is great because it's still their style with maybe some added pieces they may not have chosen before. Styling is my passion and i am always delighted to wave goodbye to a happy client and their new purchases.

Spray Tan?

Always wear loose-fit clothing especially if your travelling home from the booth. It may not be the most glamourous attire but it will stop you going streaky or losing half the colour.

Ditch your bag. Just bring your purse, keys and phone with you. Any shoulder or cross the body bag will leave lines and rub off the tan. Don't think you will remember to carry it by the top handles - you won't!

Make sure you have enough time to get from A to B after you've tanned. Any moisture or sweat from you rushing, panicing or stressing will make the tan run!

The best time is night time. Not only will you avoid having to wear your baggy clothes all day with no make up on but it leaves plenty of time for the tan to set before your shower in the morning.

The basics

A pre tan regine of exfoliation is a top priority. Not only does it get rid of any fake tan on your body already it gets rid of all the dead skin cells to ensure your fake tan lasts as long as possible.
Remember not to moisturise or add any body lotion!

As the weather promises of sun this weekend don't get caught out with white pins or even worse a streaky orange glow.

We've created some fake tan tips so whether your a first timer in a spray tan booth or want to try a new brand at home take some notes!

A guide to a streak free tan

11 April 2013

DIY?

The same rules apply as above such as exfoliating, wearing loose clothing and best to apply at night but here are some other tips.

Always use a mitt - It is a lot easier to get an all over even cover. It also means you don't get any stuck in your nails!

Watch yourself apply the tan in a mirror. It makes it a lot easier to ensure you've got the forgettable places such as the back of the arm.

Apply a small amount of moisturiser to any parts of the body that are slightly drier or that stick out such as elbows, knees, wrists and ankles.

Don't forget to bring the tan down to your hands with the remains on your mitt.

Our best value for money is the Garnier range!
